SIFF By-Laws

The Sea Island Fly Fishers was incorporated in 1996 as a non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of South Carolina. Corporate By-Laws are the written rules that control the internal affairs of an organization. Thoroughly written By-Laws help organizations know how to handle new situations or issues that may arise. By-Laws can save time trying to work out organizational complications, help define missions or goals, and help keep things running smoothly.

From time to time, it is not uncommon for By-Laws to be reviewed and amended to reflect the direction of the organization as it evolves.

During the month of January 2023, the SIFF Board of Directors met and agreed upon changes to the present By-Laws (adopted November 8, 2017). These proposed changes were voted upon by the active members at the General Membership Meeting on February 15, 2023. By an affirmative vote of all members present, the proposed By-Laws were approved. On July 19, 2023, an amendment to the By-Laws was proposed and passed by the Board of Directors. A downloadable copy of the adopted By-Laws can be viewed below:
