2023 Casting Clinic – March 25th

The Sea Island Fly Fishers is pleased to announce that registration is now open for this year’s Casting Clinic. We are again fortunate to have the program led by Capt. Shannon O’Quinn, a Fly Fishers International (FFI) Certified Fly Casting Instructor and an accomplished fishing guide. The clinic will be a one day event starting at 8:30 AM on Saturday, March 25th, and will be held on the John Paul II Catholic School grounds, 4211 N. Okatie Hwy, Ridgeland, SC. The rain date is April 1st. A barbecue lunch, artfully prepared by John Mathews, will be provided at mid-day. Advance registration is required and a $65 contribution will be requested to help defray the costs of the event. The cut-off date for registration is March 22nd.
Please bring your rod and reel for saltwater (7wt-9wt), including a saltwater leader and arrive early enough to have your equipment ready by the 8:30 AM starting time. There will be a limited amount of equipment available if necessary. The clinic will include instruction in practical fishing casts and techniques. Advanced casting will focus on the double-haul and distance casting.
This clinic is subsidized by membership dues and is open to all active members from novice to expert.
